NS&I publishes Prior Information Notice (PIN) for new operational services contract

NS&I has published a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to notify the market that a procurement exercise for NS&I’s operational services is planned to start in autumn 2011.

NS&I outsourced its back office operations to Siemens IT Solutions and Services in 1999 under a competitively tendered public private partnership. The contract includes provision of operational support services including contact centre management, customer correspondence and enquiry management, collection and repayment of customer monies, IT and management of the customer database.

It is a statutory requirement for NS&I to undertake this procurement to replace the existing contract which expires in 2014.

The PIN also alerts the market to a forthcoming ‘Industry Day’ on 11 July 2011. The Industry Day will be held in London and will provide information and seek feedback from prospective suppliers, on NS&I’s latest thoughts on the scope of requirements, sourcing model, packaging approach and procurement timescales prior to the formal launch of the procurement later in the year.

Steve Owen, Director, Operations and Commercial Management at NS&I, said:

“This PIN starts the process for the re-tender of our operational services contract and we anticipate wide interest from potential operating partners. The new contract will ensure we continue to deliver best value for the taxpayer and the best possible service to our customers.”
