NS&I today announced its annual results for the year to 31 March 2014.

The Financial Secretary to HM Treasury has appointed Cheryl Millington as an independent Non-executive Director on the board of NS&I with effect from 1 July 2014. 

NS&I has launched a new service for NS&I customers to enable them to have payments from NS&I made directly to an international bank account in their own name. 

For the June 2014 draw ERNIE paid out over 1.8 million prizes, together amounting to over £51 million in value. There were 47,842,567,640 eligible Bond numbers in the draw. In Kent there are over 685,000 Premium Bonds holdings worth more than £1.7 billion.

From Sunday 1 June 2014 the amount that customers can invest in Premium Bonds will increase to £40,000, up from the current maximum of £30,000. As customers increase their investment above £30,000, it will give them more chances to win tax-free prizes from ERNIE.

For the May 2014 draw ERNIE paid out over 1.8 million prizes, together amounting to over £51 million in value. There were 47,646,439,503 eligible Bond numbers in the draw. In Gloucestershire there are over 250,000 Premium Bonds holdings worth more than £600 million.

The latest edition of NS&I’s Quarterly Savings Survey reveals that Britons have recorded the highest saving level of the year. People are now saving 8.04% of their incomes each month, £101 in monetary terms.
