Brits are blowing their summer holiday budgets by an average of almost £120 an NS&I survey has revealed; and it’s more likely to be men who loosen the purse strings.

British people’s average monthly savings have increased by over 50% during the past 10 years according to the latest NS&I survey, with women’s savings accelerating faster than men’s.

For the June 2015 draw, ERNIE paid out over 2 million prizes of more than £61 million in value. There were 54,244,019,669 eligible Bond numbers in the draw. This brings the grand total of prizes since the first draw in June 1957, to 318.3 million and the value of those prizes to £15.8 billion.

Customers will be able to invest a further £10,000 in Premium Bonds from Monday 1 June 2015 after the maximum holding limit was increased from £40,000 to £50,000.

NS&I today published its un-audited quarterly results for the third quarter (October to December 2014) of the financial year 2014-15. NS&I delivered £1.6 billion of Net Financing in Q3 2014-15, giving a year-to-date total of £6.0 billion.
