NS&I Chairman's term extended

The Commercial Secretary to the Treasury, Lord Sassoon, has extended Martin Gray’s term as the Chairman of the board of NS&I by one year to 31 December 2011.

Martin Gray joined NS&I’s board as a Non-executive Director on 1 January 2005. He became Chairman in September 2009.

Non-Executive members of NS&I’s board ensure a sound strategy is in place to meet the organisation’s remit. They also act as an external source of advice, maintaining risk control and ensuring NS&I’s links with its strategic partner remain open and transparent.

Jane Platt, Chief Executive, NS&I, said:

“Martin Gray is an outstanding Chairman, providing NS&I with experienced leadership and stability. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Martin as we deliver NS&I’s modernisation programme whilst maintaining our extremely high levels of customer satisfaction.”
