August’s Premium Bonds millionaires are from Devon and Wales
The Premium Bonds millionaires for August 2021 come from Devon and Wales.
404KX510146 was the first Bond number drawn and it belongs to a woman from Devon. The woman holds £1,001 in Premium Bonds, making her a Premium Bonds millionaire with one of the smallest ever holdings to win.
Of the 464 Premium Bonds millionaires, just 12 others have won the £1 million jackpot with a holding less than the woman from Devon. The woman purchased the winning Bond in July 2020, meaning that it has won the jackpot in the twelfth draw that it was eligible to do so.
The second Bond number drawn was 202ZQ082477 and belongs to a woman from Wales. The woman holds £10,051 in Premium Bonds and the winning Bond was an automatically reinvested prize from a previous Premium Bonds prize win in March 2013.
Jill Waters, NS&I Retail Director, said: “We’re absolutely delighted for our two winners in Devon and Wales. The winner from Devon shows that, no matter how much you hold in Premium Bonds, you’re always in with a shot at winning the £1 million jackpot. Each and every £1 Bond has an equal opportunity, which is what the magic of Premium Bonds is all about.
“Our winner from Wales scooped the jackpot with a Bond that was reinvested from a prize win in March 2013. Winners can choose to either have any prizes they may win paid directly into their bank account or reinvested into more Premium Bonds.
"I’m sure that our winner from Wales will be banging the drum for having prizes automatically reinvested into more Premium Bonds now that she’s a millionaire after choosing that option.”
